The three Giesen brothers, Theo, Alex and Marcel, were born and raised in Germany but moved to New Zealand and planted a vineyard in the early 1980's. Their first vintage was in 1984 and it was at a time when the New Zealand wine industry was in its infancy. Through hard work and brotherly love they have succeded growing their business and the quality of their wine. They are in the Marlborough region which has become synonymous with New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. It is now known world wide for its distinctive racy style that is packed with juicy sweet grapefruit and grassy characteristics. We have been a fan of their Sauvignon Blanc for years now and it has been a staple of our by-the-glass program here at the wine bar. Please join us as we taste through a line up of their wines from down under.
